History
The P.J. Kranz Insurance Agency was established in 1892 by Peter J. Kranz. In the early 1920's, PJ (Peter) was joined by his five sons, Karl, Gerold, Leo, Bernard, and Albert. The agency is one of the few businesses that remained in business through The Depression. When PJ died in 1945, his sons took over the business and added Karl's son, Robert Kranz, to the agency after he returned from serving in WWII. Today, Robert's two sons, Richard and Joseph Kranz, are the current owners. They joined in 1972 and purchased the agency from their father, Robert, in 1989. P.J. Kranz Insurance Agency has been operating in Toledo, Ohio for four generations, making it one of the oldest family-owned and operated insurance agencies in the area.
